Catholic Charities of Wichita (CCW) is pleased to unveil a new 24/7 food drop-off bin, providing donors with greater flexibility to contribute non-perishable food items at their convenience. Located at 2825 S. Hillside Ave., right outside Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, the bin is an innovative concept dreamed up by a dedicated group of CCW staff and volunteers by upcycling a pre-existing shed into a functional donation station.
24/7 Food Donation Drop-off Bin
This new food drop-off bin concept addresses the need for after-hours donation options, allowing community members to support the pantry’s mission at any time, day or night, including weekends and holidays.
“We work hard every day to keep our shelves stocked with nutritious food for individuals and families facing food insecurity,” said Tiffany Oltjenbruns, program director at Our Daily Bread.
“Every donation, big or small, truly makes a difference. With the addition of this new food bin, we’re making it even easier and more convenient for community members to give. It’s a simple way for people to take action and support their neighbors in need.”

Critical food need this summer
The introduction comes at a critical time. Our Daily Bread has seen a 21 percent increase in visitors over the past year, reflecting its vital role in feeding hungry individuals and families in the community. The need becomes even more pronounced during the summer months, as children are home from school and household grocery budgets are stretched further.
Client-choice model food pantry
Operating under a client-choice model, Our Daily Bread allows patrons to “shop” for the food items that best suit their family’s needs. With the help of a volunteer, clients can select two to three days’ worth of groceries during a monthly visit. Options include fresh and canned fruits and vegetables, dairy items, meats and proteins, breakfast staples, pasta, rice, and bread.
To continue meeting the rising demand, Our Daily Bread invites you to host a food drive or donate urgently needed items, especially:
- Canned SPAM
- Canned chicken
- Spaghetti sauce
- Canned pineapple (20 oz.)
- Canned peaches (15 oz.)
- Canned chili
In addition to food drives and non-perishable food donations, monetary gifts also help the pantry purchase food in bulk at discounted rates.
Food donations can be dropped off 24/7 at the new food bin at 2825 S. Hillside Ave.
