Adult Day Services (ADS), a Catholic Charities program, allows senior citizens the ability to age in place while supporting them through the challenges of dementia, early Alzheimer’s, or loneliness.  ADS also aids the adult community facing intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Day program for senior loved ones

The senior populations of adults aged 55 and older, particularly those affected by memory loss, early cognitive decline or social withdrawal, are an integral part of the ADS program. This program is available Monday through Friday and helps participants maintain their physical and social well-being by providing a comprehensive, structured and engaging environment.

Program features and highlights include

  • Group and individual activities tailored to interests and abilities
  • Community outings encouraging engagement
  • Educational programs stimulating lifelong learning
  • Comprehensive care coordination
  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks provided daily
  • Reliable transportation services for convenience

Supporting family caregivers and guardians

Adult Day Services enhances the lives of seniors but also supports family caregivers or guardians by offering respite and peace of mind. With a reliable and compassionate setting, caregivers can confidently balance work and personal responsibilities while knowing their loved ones are receiving quality care.

The senior program also contributes to the long-term goal of helping seniors remain in their homes longer. By engaging in structured activities and receiving essential support, participants can enjoy a higher quality of life while delaying the need for more intensive care arrangements. Early planning for aging in place can significantly improve a senior’s ability to maintain independence and well-being.

Programming for adults with intellectural and developmental disabilities

ADS also specializes in programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to help participants reach their highest potential. The IDD program provides participants with socialization, community outings, and activities to enhance daily living skills so they may maintain their independence.
