Through the selfless service of dedicated volunteers like you, we meet the needs of the most vulnerable among us. There are many ways to get involved.

Administrative Support

Mission support encompasses several of our programs, such as Cana Counseling, Adult Day Services, Supportive Services for Veteran Families and Immigration Services as well as Administration.

Volunteers in these programs may help with:

  • Meal time
  • Clerical/data entry
  • Landscape
  • Maintenance
  • Veteran peer support
  • Mock interviewer/resume reviewer

Harbor House

Harbor House is more than a safe shelter for survivors of severe violence. Harbor House uses outreach advocacy services to guide survivors of abuse through the judicial, medical and Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) systems.

Volunteers may help with:

  • Donation pick up
  • Storage room organization
  • In-shelter child care
  • Cleaning
  • Kitchen and meal service for evening meals
  • Weekend meal train food purchase and preparation for 40 people
  • Special events

Our Daily Bread Food Pantry

Our Daily Bread operates almost entirely on the power of volunteers. There are opportunities to directly help patrons while the pantry is open, as well as opportunities for more “behind the scenes” work of organizing donated items, restocking shelves or cleaning the pantry.

Pantry volunteer opportunities include:

  • Truck driver: pick up and deliver food to the pantry
  • Food distributor
  • Assist patrons with shopping at the pantry
  • Data entry and client intake

St. Anthony Family Shelter

St. Anthony Family Shelter provides families with basic needs and support to gain stable housing, with the goal of moving them out of the shelter into homes they can afford and sustain for the long term.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Kitchen and meal service
  • Weekend meal train food purchase and preparation for 40 people
  • Donation pick up
  • In-shelter child care
