A new group of Queen Bees is taking flight to raise awareness of and funds for the two Catholic Charities shelters.

Eight local women are reaching out to family, friends and coworkers through Nov. 11 with the goal of each raising at least $5,000 to support the operations of Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter and St. Anthony Family Shelter. That figure represents the costs to house, feed and provide supplies for one family in shelter for one month.

Selected for their professional success, civic achievements and commitment to philanthropy, the 2025 Queen Bees are:

Katie Brewer,
St. Thomas Aquinas

Hope Buessing,
Sacred Heart

Lisa Burgess,
Blessed Sacrament

Jaclyn McAnarney,
St. Francis of Assisi & St. Paul University Parish

Ava Mikesell,
Holy Spirit

Mary Rager,
Zaik Church

Maggie Seitz,
Church of the Magdalen

Heather Siefer,
Church of the Resurrection

Queen Bee Woman of the Year

At the conclusion of the campaign, the top fundraiser will be named Queen Bee Woman of the Year.

This marks the ninth Queen Bee campaign for Catholic Charities, which taps into the leadership of the community’s most dynamic and inspiring women – women who believe in making a difference. In 2024, ten Queen Bees combined to raise the funds necessary to provide one month of shelter, food and assistance for 36 families.
