Adult Day Services, a ministry program of Catholic Charities, celebrates Disability Awareness Month in March. It is a time to celebrate the achievements of individuals with disabilities and advocate for their inclusion and support. Down Syndrome Day is also observed on Friday, March 21. This month highlights the importance of ensuring all individuals have access to opportunities that enrich their lives.

Adult Day Services provides affordable, quality day programs for adults aged 18 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and seniors aged 55 and older facing dementia, Alzheimer’s, or loneliness.
The program is located in Wichita and offers a warm, vibrant space where participants can enhance daily living skills, build friendships, and enjoy meaningful activities, further fulfilling the mission of Catholic Charities to stabilize and empower individuals living with disability.

Participants have the opportunity to participate in educational programs, community outings, daily hot meals, nursing services, care coordination, and group and individual activities. Additionally, a large outdoor recreation area provides space for movement, socialization, and hands-on activities in a safe, enclosed environment.
Adult Day Services gives individuals who are on the autism spectrum, have ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, or other developmental challenges, or seniors facing dementia or Alzheimer’s, a place to be engaged. At the same time, parents and caregivers can receive respite and know their loved one is in good hands.
