Southeast Kansas Services at Catholic Charities has received a grant for homeless diversion and emergency assistance from Aetna Better Health of Kansas.
The funds will be utilized to directly help with diverting individuals from homelessness in Southeast Kansas by providing emergency assistance for utilities and rent.
Southeast Kansas Services at Catholic Charities serves around 500 people each year through case management, financial literacy education, rental and utility emergency assistance, homeless prevention and rapid re-housing services, and resource navigation for mainstream benefits. With offices in Pittsburg, the team serves people in an 11-county area of Southeast Kansas.
