Start Strong Final Friday Art Crawl
Wichita, Kan. – Start Strong Wichita will present an Exclusive Exhibit for the Final Friday Art Crawl on Jan. 29. Area teenagers will develop and showcase works of Art ranging from paintings to live theatre. Each piece will reflect on the question ‘What does a healthy relationship look like to you?’ During the event, Art Work will be auctioned to local patrons and proceeds will be given to area Choose Respect Programs to work on Violence Prevention in Wichita schools. Start Strong Wichita is the largest initiative EVER funded to promote building healthy relationships in 11-14 year olds. This exhibit will feature live dramatic performances from area drama troupes, live music written by local teens, poetry readings, paintings, sculptures, human exhibits, and much more. Located at the 2nd Floor of Hewitt’s Antiques (228 N.  Market) from 6-10pm, this will definitely be an experience that everyone in the city will not want to miss.Â
Before the end of high school 1 in 3 students will be the victim of dating violence. Start Strong Wichita is a multi-faceted initiative designed to build Respect and create a stable framework in tweens for future Romantic Relationships. February is Teen Dating Violence Prevention Month and the ART CRAWL will mark the launch of the month long campaign to bring awareness to this issue. Come find out what Wichita Teens are doing to promote healthy relationships in our community by visiting the Crawl. For more information become a friend of Start Strong Wichita on Facebook, Myspace, or YouTube or feel free to contact Nick at nbarton@catholiccharitieswichita.org with any questions, or visit http://www.catholiccharitieswichita.org/index.php/services/start-strong-wichita/ for more information!
