On Dec. 3, Kohl’s Cares for Kids Program presented a check to Gerard House for $71,782. This money goes to Kohl’s Newborns In Need Care Closet at Gerard House.”  Via Christi’s Gerard House is a licensed maternity home. To reach out into the community further, the money will be used to provide diapers and formula to additional agencies including Catholic Charities Help Center, Dear Neighbor Ministries, and Birthline. It is estimated that the amount of formula will provide 20,000 feedings to babies in our community. Interim Director for the Help Center Tonya Knipp accepted the donation on behalf of Catholic Charities. The Help Center touches thousands each year. This donation will go a long way to help those we serve.
