Whether you’re young and unmarried or an adult with a family, an unplanned pregnancy can be a difficult period. Catholic Charities Pregnancy Counseling Services, which is open to people of all faiths, understands that and is available to provide education and support about pregnancy options, community referrals, and counseling at no cost to the client.

The goal of Catholic Charities Pregnancy Counseling Services is to help birth parents have a healthy pregnancy, to know their pregnancy options and be supported in their decision. As every pregnancy choice has life-long implications, it is critical for birth parents to carefully consider each life-giving option.

Options

For those choosing to parent, the program provides assistance with identifying personal goals, children’s needs (child development) budgeting plans and a child’s future relationship with parents. For those interested in making an adoption plan for their child, we offer counseling before and after the baby is placed for adoption. This may include having birth families select the adoptive family, discussing the grief and loss issues, and planning for ongoing contact with their baby and the adoptive family, and a support group meetings for birth parents.

Cost

Catholic Charities provides case management support and pregnancy counseling to birth mothers, birth fathers and their families at no cost to the clients. When referrals to therapy are made, if applicable, insurance may be billed.

Other Services

In addition to the primary services offered by Catholic Charities Pregnancy Counseling Services, the agency also offers:

  • Referral to adoption legal counsel
  • Post-adoption counseling for birth parents who relinquish a child
