Catholic Charities continues to connect people with food assistance in Wichita, Kansas and currently has an outreach program in Pittsburg, Kansas where staff provide prescreenings for people who may qualify for the Food Assistance Program. This prescreening helps individuals learn more about Food Assistance.
Food assistance are a win-win for low-income families and individuals, as well as for the local economy. By helping them defray the costs of groceries, food stamp benefits allow recipients to purchase more healthy and nutritious food. These benefits also help local retailers and the local community by bringing Federal dollars into the area.
