Meet Our Professional Team of Therapists

 


Erin L. Cavanaugh

Erin Cavanaugh provides mental health services in Spanish at several community agencies. Although she offices primarily at Catholic Charities Counseling Center, she also has satellite offices located at Grace Med, Guadalupe Clinic and the Office of Hispanic Ministries. 

Erin is a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) currently working toward licensure.  She earned a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Friends University in 2011 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Wichita State University.  Her work experience includes working with families and children at Youthville, providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples and families at Catholic Charities Counseling Center, providing attendant care to adults with various mental illnesses, empowering women and children living in a domestic violence shelter, and assisting families through the process of amending their legal status in the United States.  Erin has worked with the following issues: depression, anxiety, grief/loss, abuse/trauma, issues around immigration, and conflict within couples and families.  Erin has recently completed training in the Prepare and Enrich Program for marriage enrichment and hopes to share her learning with English and Spanish-speaking couples.  She is currently working toward obtaining her LCMFT (Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist).

 

BreAnn Collins, LMSW

BreAnn Collins provides pregnancy counseling services. These services include adjusting to circumstances surrounding the pregnancy, mental preparation for the birth of the baby, pre- and post-adoption counseling and relationship education. BreAnn’s office is at the downtown location and she conducts classes throughout the city of Wichita.

BreAnn is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Wichita State University in 2005 and a bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University in 2004. Her work experience includes mentoring teens at Episcopal Social Services who experienced trouble with the legal system and to refocus them on the right path; providing case management for families in transitional living programs; working with students at technical colleges, providing career counseling; working with mentally disabled and providing payee services; teaching relationship skills to couples in the Marriage for Keeps program at Catholic Charities as a Family Support Specialist; and developing and creating a relationship education program for teens that teaches healthy relationship skills.  BreAnn is a native of Wichita, is married and has a daughter.

Fran Betzen Cook, LSCSW

Fran Betzen Cook is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW). She earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Newman University in 2000 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Avila College in 1999. She has provided counseling to families struggling with domestic violence, therapeutic support groups to families living in poverty, and individual and family therapy for married couples.  Fran is trained in a wide variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as strengths-based, feminist and social justice theories.  Fran is currently the Clinical Coordinator-Therapist of Counseling Services, and provides supervision to the other therapists on staff, in addition to counseling services. 

Fran was named WSU’s Social Worker of the Year in 2008, and has volunteered with many organizations.  She is currently on the board of Partners for Wichita, and is the co-chair of the Immigrant Family Support Network. Fran believes in God’s love for all human beings, the power of teamwork and also the resilience of the human spirit.  She is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Wichita.

 Sally Beck, LSCSW

Sally Beck is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker   (LSCSW).  She earned her    Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2001.  She earned her  LSCSW in 2005 and has been in private practice for 7 years.  Sally has been providing counseling for adults, individuals, and couples, as well as adolescents.  Treatment issues include depression, anxiety/stress, grief/loss, relationship issues, women’s issues, trauma, anger management, self-esteem and more.   She is trained in numerous therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral, Strengths Perspective, Solution Focused, and EMDR.  

  Sally carries an enthusiasm for working in the mental health field and has a passion for assisting those in the healing process.  Her goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere for clients to work on their deepest needs.
