Catholic Charities Diocese of Wichita

In the book of St. John, agape is the Greek word used for love, meaning unconditional, self-sacrificing love for another.
Caritas-wording
Caritas, a Latin term for charity, is an unlimited, loving-kindness toward all others. Corinthians tells us that charity or love is the greatest of the three theological virtues.

“Hearts bending down in love to lift up those in human suffering”

Taken from the Encyclical letter of Pope Benedict XVI, Love – caritas – will always prove necessary, even in the most just society. Following the example given in the parable of the Good Samaritan, Christian charity extends beyond an immediate response to basic needs: feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and caring for the sick.

Make it Your Mission
The Caritas Circle is for members who give an annual gift of $10,000 or more to sustain the mission of Catholic Charities. Your commitment ensures that all of God’s children, no matter their race, religion, age or income, are treated with love and dignity. While every gift is important to Catholic Charities the combined leverage of the financial support provided through the Caritas Circle enables us to respond to growing client demand in our food pantry and shelter operations.

The Caritas Circle Membership Benefits
Members of Caritas Circle will receive a personal invitation to a private annual event with the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.

Matching Challenge
Each new Caritas Circle member’s gift will be matched with a $5,000 gift, up to $100,000 per year from an anonymous donor. In addition to allocating dollars for food pantry and shelter operations, a portion of the dollars raised will be placed in an endowment fund for the food pantry.
